The grand Naval Armory on East Jefferson in Detroit, that's been vacant for about 10 years, could get a new lease on life.

Shawn Ley of WDIV reports that the city is asking developers to step up and buy and develop the facility that overlooks Belle Isle and the Detroit River.

WDIV reports that photos from the website Detroiturbex.com show that the incredible woodworking and anything else of value has been stripped out of the armory by scrappers after the building was handed over to the city a decade ago.

WDIV reports that the Armory was once a place that trained the military and hosted USO events and Joe Louis's first fight.
