Pastor Greg Casto of the Family Worship Church of God in Clinton Township says he's sorry if the sign outside the church offended anyone but he tells WDIV "I'm not sorry for defending the word of God."
He's talking about the sign that said: “We love the homosexual enough to tell them know they’re wrong.” The message on the sign board is regularly changed, but this one was taken down earlier than normal this week, reports WDIV's McAboy.
“We do have the homosexual community that does come to our church,” Casto said. “And we do welcome everyone.”
“If this bible is totally true, which we believe that it is, then we don't want them to face an everlasting torment, same thing with adulterers, fornicators, and thieves,” Casto said.
“I’m sorry I offended or the church offended any person."
Obviously, not everyone found the sign instructional or acceptable.
“I don't see many signs like that in most faith institutions; so when I see something that is disturbing, I question the intent of the ministry," Curtis Lipscomb with LGBT Detroit told the station.
