The infamous incident.
Sometimes a headline says it all, and this is one: Alleged pizza spitter disease-free, tests show
Hallelujah and praises to the Detroit News editor who came up with that, because if you were one of the unlucky baseball fans who attended the Tigers game at Comerica Park Sept. 21, and if you ordered a pizza at some random concession stand, you've probably been unwilling to put anything in your mouth since. As the case of 20-year-old Roseville resident Jaylon Juwan Kerley shows us, you never know where that thing has been.
Kerley spit on the dough before covering it with sauce and, presumably, served it to some unknowing sap. It grossed out Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy enough that she teed up a felony charge against him. The testing was a condition of his release on bond.
The results show he tested negative for any sexually transmitted diseases, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), and hepatitis.
Whew, what a relief.
