Louie Anderson, a stand-up comic, actor and television host, will headline the second annual benefit, Make Your Date, a regional program fighting preterm birth in Detroit.
The event is set for Saturday at the Fillmore at 2115 Woodward Avenue in downtown Detroit.
Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan will serve as honorary chairman of the fundraiser.
The event, which begins at 6:30 p.m., includes cocktails, dinner and a performance by Anderson. The cost is $250 per person or $500 per person for a VIP, meet and greet and photographs.
The fundraiser was started by the city of Detroit.
Anderson is currently staring in the new FX comedy series “Baskets.” Comedy Central has named him on one of the 100 greatest stand-up comedians.
“We are very fortunate to have Louie Anderson supporting Make Your Date for the second year in a row,” Duggan said in a statement. “With Louie’s support we can bring greater awareness to the risks of preterm birth so we can help expectant mothers carry their babies to full term.”
