Coney Islands and gas stations in Detroit continue to attract serious crime.

In the latest incident; the owner of Detroit Coney Island at Schaefer and Ethel on Detroit's far southwestern side was fatal shot Thursday morning near the front door of his restaurant in what WDIV says may have been a botched robbery.

Frano Juncaj, 59, who was in partnership with his brother, was killed around 9:30 a.m., according to Priya Mann of the station. He was shot once in the chest.

Juncaj and his brother ran the restaurant more than 35 years. The two immigrated to the United States in 1975.
