Rep. Candice Miller, R-Harrison Township

He wasn't her top pick and she doesn't agree with everything he says.

Still, Michigan Congresswoman Candice Miller of Harrison Township tells WXYZ's Chuck Stokes  in an interview (below) at the Detroit Regional Chamber's Mackinac Policy Conference that she backs Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump.

"He certainly is up front about things," she says on the Grand Hotel's porch. "Her was not my first choice, but I'm certainly prepared to support him as our nominee."

It's time for other Republican leaders to do the same, in her view, because he speaks his mind and addresses issues  affecting Michigan voters.

Miller, serving her seventh term in the U.S. House, feels Hillary Clinton has too much negative baggage and predicts some Democrats unhappy with Clinton will vote for Trump.
