A traffic blockade at the Grosse Pointe Park-Detroit border isn't going away any time soon, even though the suburb had agreed to remove it by now,  the Detroit Free Press reports. 

The obstruction will come down eventually at least change its form, Bill Laitner writes. “But it’s not going to be soon,” say City Councilman David Clark.

At a contentious City Council meeting Monday night, suburban officials absorbed both barbs and compliments over the 6-month-old emplacement of farmers market sheds and a traffic circle near Alter Road.

After negotiations with Detroit, the city of Grosse Pointe Park had agreed to remove the blockade.

Muckraker reported Monday that it was supposed to come down eight days ago.
