Cop Fatally Shoots Suspected Shoplifter at Downriver Walmart

It was harrowing night at the Walmart in the Downriver community of Woodhaven.

WDIV reported that police shot and killed a suspected shoplifter Tuesday in the parking lot.

The station reported that a Woodhaven police officer in the parking lot confronted a man and woman suspected of shoplifting.

The man pulled out a screwdriver and then jumped in the car and tried running over an officer.  The officer opened fire.
