The West Bloomfield Township boy was shot while on the phone with 911 dispatchers, a detective said in court Monday.

Jonathan Hoffman, 17, called 911 and told the dispatcher his grandmother had shot him in the chest and that he was going to die, West Bloomfield Police Detective Brad Boulet said. Boulet testified while swearing to a warrant immediately before the Monday afternoon arraignment of Hoffman’s grandmother, 74-year-old Sandra Maxine Layne.

“During the phone call, he screamed and said he’d been shot again,” Boulet said, according to the Oakland Press.
