Things are only getting stranger.
Cheryl Chodun of WXYZ reports that activist Robert Davis is challenging the emergency manager's existence in court and insisting the City Council has no right to meet or make decisions under an EM.
A spokesman for Kevyn Orr, the emergency manager, says the law does not preclude council from meeting, and told the council it's ok to meet, Chodun reports.
The council has scheduled a meeting Tuesday.
Davis tells 7 Action News that if the council meets, he'll go to the Court of Appeals to try to get an injunction to stop the meeting.
Oh, yes by the way, it's the same Davis who has been indicted by the feds for allegedly pocketing money from Highland Park Schools while serving on the board. He says he's innocent and calls the charges politically motivated.
