Cultures Collide: New Royal Oak Dining Spot to Serve Burrito-Style Sushi

Yuzu Sushi Co., opening Jan. 27 at 32832 Woodward Ave. in Royal Oak, will have sushirritos -- large shushi hand rolls served like a burrito.

Yuzu Sushi Co. is a concept by Mario Gojcaj, Chef de Cuisine at Downtown Louie's in Detroit. Gojcaj tells Eater that Yuzu is inspired by similar concepts on the West Coast that offer sushirritos — a large sushi hand roll that's served like a burrito

Customers can choose between soy paper or nori wraps as well as brown or white rice. However, the likeness to standard sushi ends there. Fillings range from more traditional sushi options like unagi to fusion choices like curried chicken or satay.
