From the obvious "Babe Ruth slept here" spots like the Book Cadillac Hotel to lesser known landmarks like the Corktown home of James Burns, an early Tigers owner, Curbed's tour of Detroit's baseball-related landmarks goes well beyond the corner of Michigan and Trumbull, or Montcalm and Witherall.
A couple other baseball sites worth visiting in Detroit include Hamtramck Stadium--one of the few Negro League venues still standing--Fairview Homes, former site of another Detroit Stars' venue, Mack Park, and the DMC campus, where the nineteenth century National League Detroit Wolverines' Recreation Park once stood.
The Wolverines defeated the American Association's St. Louis club to win the 1887 World's Championship.
