Quicken Loans founder Dan Gilbert finds himself in the middle of a controversy involving Donald Trump.
A handful of protesters at Campus Martius expressing anger Monday that Donald Trump on Friday night had a downtown fundraiser in Chrysler House at Griswold and Fort streets, an office building Gilbert owns.
Demonstrators surmise that Gilberts backs Trump.
Not so, a Gilbert spokesperson tells Fox 2. The person said that the state GOP, not Gilbert hosted the event, and that Gilbert has not publicly backed either presidential candidate.
Gilbert endorsed New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie in the Republican primary race and contributed to him. Christie is now active in Trump's campaign.
