In the Department of It's Good News Because It's News, here's something: A daylight carjacking attempt downtown was foiled by an unwilling would-be victim and passersby on March 15.

A 58-year-old woman was sitting in her parked vehicle at a meter outside the bank when a man opened her driver side door and started yelling at her to move into the passenger seat, police said.
When she refused, the suspect attempted to push her into the passenger seat. She pushed back, police said.
Others rushed to help the victim, prompting the suspect to leap out of the vehicle.
All of this happened in the 700 block of Woodward, outside Citizens Bank near Campus Martius, at the broad-daylight hour of 4:45 p.m.
The suspect fled north on Woodward. Because of the zillion cameras downtown, there's a pretty good picture of him, as well as a video, all at The News' link
