Deadline Detroit is pleased to officially announce a new interactive tv weekly series entitled “One Round with Darrell Dawsey.”

Every episode will feature a no-holds barred, three-minute debate on a major local issue between Dawsey, a veteran Detroit journalist, and a guest panelist.

"Deadline Detroit is taking the next step toward becoming a multi-media solution for our readers,” said Deadline Detroit’s Director of Sales and Marketing Craig A. Ward. “Darrell is an exciting, knowledgeable, and passionate journalist. Watching him take on all comers in these one-round “bouts” will be different than anything you have seen before.  This is just a start of what’s to come from Deadline Detroit."

One Round’s set, a homage to Detroit’s rich boxing history, and the show’s casual vibe aims to apply the fight game’s ethos to issues of local politics and culture.

“The idea is to promote a dialogue that will be passionate but informed, thoughtful but unvarnished, focused but free-flowing,” said Dawsey. “And regardless of whether our opinions piss you off or win you over, my aim, above all, is to keep our viewers engaged.”

Episodes of One Round w/Darrell Dawsey will be posted at 11 AM every Tuesday on Deadline Detroit, beginning September 24, 2013. Viewers can also learn more on the show’s Facebook page.

One Round is produced in partnership with Pish Posh, a downtown Detroit video production start-up.

Deadline Detroit, one of the region’s fastest growing digital news sites, was founded in 2012 by veteran journalists Bill McGraw and Allan Lengel and is located at the Compuware Building in the heart of downtown Detroit.
