The Democratic National Committee announced today that the party's candidates for president will appear in a debate in Detroit July 30-31. Details -- venue, format, etc. still to be determined, evidently.

In a press release, the DNC stated the debate will take place in prime time on back-to-back nights; whether it will run for two nights because of the large number of candidates is unclear. It will be broadcast live on CNN and it's international and Spanish-language channels, as well as livestreamed on the website and mobile apps.

The debate lineups for each night will be determined at random to provide each candidate with a fair opportunity to make his or her case to a large, national audience. Additional details on the venue, moderators, communication accessibility, and timing will be announced at a later date.

Clear your calendars, political junkies. Any city appearance means pop-in visits at local hot spots, so get ready for selfie season.
