Louis Aguilar reports in the Detroit News that a Denver-area firm that buys and renovates historical properties has acquired four medium-sized apartment buildings near E. Jefferson and Van Dyke, according to a company spokeswoman.

Triton Properties Company announced Monday it bought the buildings — all of which are close to each other — for an undisclosed amount. The aim is to fix them up, said April Sedillos, Triton executive vice president.

The properties include Hibbard Tower Residences — 8905 E Jefferson Ave., which has 43 units and the Kean Residences — 8925 E Jefferson Ave., which has 49 units.

Triton also own homes in East English Village and the sprawling Alden Park Towers next to the UAW's Solidarity House on E. Jefferson.
