In 2011, during the Super Bowl, Chrysler aired the famous commercial with Eminem that not only cast Detroit in a good light, but also raised the profile of the Chrysler 200.

Years later, the Chrysler 200, which frankly looks sharper than the previous models, is not selling so well, and that's translating in local job losses.

CNN reports that Fiat Chrysler will cut 1,300 jobs from the Sterling Heights plant, which is reducing production of the midsize sedan.  Sales of the Chrysler 200 are down 63% so far this year compared to a year ago, CNN reports.

 CNN reports that low gas prices have fueled a shift  by Americans away from sedans to crossovers, SUVs and pickups.
