The Jell-O Pudding man, Dr. Huxtable, or whatever you want to call him, is stirring controversy across the Detroit River in Canada.

Despite protests stemming from an avalanche of sexual assault allegations, Cosby, 77,  who is doing a stand-up tour,  plans to go ahead and perform three concerts this week in Ontario.

Diana Mehta of the Canadian Press reports that Cosby is set to perform in Kitchener on Jan. 7, London on Jan. 8 and Hamilton on  Jan. 9.

The Chicago-based Innovation Arts and Entertainment said Cosby's representatives had informed them the comedian "has every intent to perform these events."

"While we understand and empathize this is a difficult time, we hope it is understood that both the venues and IAE are legally obligated to proceed as it applies to our commitments," it said in a statement, according to the Canadian Press. "We would face crippling legal obstacles for violation."

Obviously, not everyone is happy, and there's likely to be demonstrations, the Canadian Press reports.

"We're appalled that any Canadian city would host Bill Cosby," said Megan Walker, executive director of the London Abused Women's Centre, according to the Canadian Press. "Allowing Bill Cosby to perform in London is completely contradictory to the support this community has continued to give to women abused by men."
