The Detroit bus system, still woefully behind other cities like Washington, Portland and Chicago, is moving in the right direction.
The city's Department of Transportation will unveil expanded bus service with express and direct routes to get riders from growing, populated neighborhoods to work, Leonard Fleming of The Detroit News writes.
The changes will take place in two phases starting as early as next month and will include new 24-hour service to certain routes and Saturday service to the Eastern Market from six neighborhoods, the News reports.
