A body found inside a barrel on the city's west side reportedly has been identified as that of Detroit chef Douglas Calhoun, who had been missing since early June.
Family members and the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office made the identification, according to Tom Perkins of Metro Times, who cites a "source familiar with the case." The Medical Examiner's Office said it hadn't yet officially identified Calhoun, though.
The decomposed body was discovered Saturday inside the barrel. No arrests have been made in the case.
Calhoun returned to his home 3500 block of West Outer Drive in Detroit about 3:30 a.m. June 1, WDIV reports. He was out with friends that night and called to let them know he had made it home. No one heard from him again.
Calhoun, a personal chef and caterer, didn’t show up to a job on June 2 and missed a flight to a big event that weekend
