
The downtown Detroit fireworks celebrate the independence of our nation.
So there might have been a little irony that the police department was pushing to expand the curfew from one day to four and temporarily take away the independence of local youth.
On Tuesday, the Detroit City Council voted 4-3 to reject a proposal to expand the curfew to begin at 6 p.m..during River Days and the fireworks from June 19-22, WDIV reports.
