It was a weekend chockfull of gun violence in Detroit.
In this case, a gunman was killed, and few are shedding tears.
Tara Edwards of WXYZ reports that say a robber entered Pete's Grill and Coney Island on Outer Drive and Dequindre on Detroit's east side on Sunday morning and announced a hold-up. He pointed the gun at the owner.
About a dozen customers were having breakfast.
But a cook in the back pulled out a gun and shot the robber.
Customer Robert Felton told WXYZ that after the man demanded money, he saw customers diving on the floor.
Edwards reports that "everyone is calling the cook a hero."
