We can only hope these raids have a big impact on crime.

George Hunter of the Detroit News reports that the Detroit Police Department  conducted its eighth high-profile mass raid Thursday known as "Operation Restore Order," this time targeting drug dealers in a one-square mile location around Eight Mile and Wyoming

Police Chief James Craig told the media that the drug dealers might be wise to the raids.

“You saw all those people on their cellphones; I don’t think they were all saying what a wonderful job the Detroit police are doing,” Craig said. “They’re tipping off their friends that we’re coming

As of 3 p.m., the News reported, that cops had made 12 felony arrests and one misdemeanor arrests.

Craig has said the series of raids have made an impact on crime.

Some citizens have been skeptical, saying it's more for show.
