A 59-year-old Detroit firefighter was found shot to death Monday night at his home in the 7600 block of Vaughan on Detroit's west side, WXYZ reports. He had been shot in the head.
WXYZ reports that the man was discovered by his son, who had come by the house to check up on his father around 7:30 p.m.
Police believe he'd been dead for a day, the station reports. He had been with the fire department for 25 years.
Sources tell WXYZ that the victim's car, a black 2015 Ford Explorer, was initially missing, but was recovered. A bedroom was also ransacked .
