Home invasions continue to plague the city.
Jesse Lovett, a 52-year-old grandfather, was shot and killed on Detroit's east side after he walked in on burglars at his home on Chalmers on Detroit's east side, Erika Erickson of Fox 2 reports.
Relatives said he was known for how he loved his grandchildren, his jokes and storytelling.
Lovett's family says the father and grandfather had a specific morning routine.
"He went to the gas station to play his lottery, and get his coffee," his sister tells Fox 2.
