The Detroit Historical Museum attracted a record crowd of nearly 15,000 visitors during its 55 1/2-hour reopening celebration marathon, Mark Stryker reports in the Free Press.
“We were very pleased with the numbers,” Bob Sadler, director of public and external relations, told Stryker. “But what really excited us was the enthusiastic reception the changes received.”
The previous weekend attendance record for the historical museum was 9,000 during the first weekend following a far more modest renovation in 2006.
