A Detroit man suspected of plotting jihad on behalf of the Islamic State won't go to trial.

Sebastian Gregerson, aka Abdurrahman Bin Mikaayl, has decided to plead guilty on March 30, reports Robert Snell of the Detroit News.

Gregerson, 30, is accused of buying fragmentation grenades from an undercover FBI employee, and the FBI believes he was plotting violent jihad with a radical former imam in Maryland, according to court records, the News reports.

By sidestepping a trial, the FBI can avoid disclosing details of the case it might prefer to keep secret.

Details of the plea have not been disclosed yet.
