Since taking office in January 2014, Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan has delivered two State of the City addresses.

Tonight at 7 p.m., he'll deliver his third, this time at Second Ebenezer Church, 14601 Dequindre. It's an invite-only event that can be watched on  city’s cable channels (10 and 22 on Comcast and 99 on AT&T U-verse) and streamed live at www.detroitmi.gov.

Duggan has been mum on what he'll talk about, but with two years already under his belt, he's bound to touch on demolition of vacant homes, economic development, repaired street lights and more efficient bus service.

But he'd be remiss if he he didn't address the need to do a lot more; to improve neighborhoods, reduce crime and work on employment. He also could touch on the need to improve schools even though they are still being run by the state.

The Detroit Free Press reports that the city says more than 2,000 people have registered to attend the invitation-only speech, 1,300 of them members of city block clubs, neighborhood organizations and other community groups.
