Detroit Middle School Student Brings Gun to School

The reality of guns and schools hit close to home here in Detroit on Monday, just days after the mass shooting in Connecticut.

WDIV reports that a 13-year-old student at the Marquette Elementary-Middle School in Detroit was caught with a .38 caliber handgun.

Fortunately, school security caught him with the gun as he walked in the door of the school, WDIV reports.

WDIV reports that he may have just wanted to scare students who had been threatening him.
