Detroiters can expect to see quite a bit of Detrot in the upcoming movie, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."  The film, starring Ben Affleck,  was filmed in Detroit and will debut in theaters on Friday.

Julie HInds of the Detroit Free Press talks to the film's director Zack Snyder, who says: "I think Detroiters will go, 'Oh, my God, they really milked this city for all its worth.' I think Detroiters will really feel at home in the movie.”

Snyder spent much of 2014 here for preparation and the actual filming of the movie, which lasted about five months, Hinds writes. Filming also took place in the Detroit suburbs and East Lansing and Chicago, Illinois, New Mexico and Bora Bora.

Michigan lured the film with $35 million in tax incentives.

“The city itself became an amazing backdrop for our movie," Snyder told the Freep. "We used it for scenes in Gotham and scenes in Metropolis. We used as a centerpiece the (old) Wayne County Courthouse, which became a really big location for us, as well the old train station.  That’s where Batman and Superman have their huge climactic battle scene," says Snyder, referring to the ruins of the Michigan Central Station.
