Detroit police say they've arrested a 16-year-old boy in the early January killing of a 15-year-old at a gas station at Outer Drive and East 7 Mile.

The shooting of Robert Harris was captured in a chilling image that showed a masked suspect standing over him with a gun as he lay on the floor near the store's entrance.

Harris had been in the store buying snacks when he posted a selfie inadvertently alerting a boy he'd recently fought with of his whereabouts, his mother told Fox 2.

She marveled at the killer's decision to settle the dispute with deadly weapon. "Same age as my son," she said to the station. "Didn't want to throw up (fists) — but you picked up a gun."

Detroit police tell Fox 2 tips from the public helped lead them to the teen this week. Additional charges are possible for anyone who may have helped him hide from police.
