Detroit Police wounded a 59-year-old man who allegedly pointed a gun at them and refused to put it down, WDIV reports.

The man, shot five times Friday night, is listed in critical condition.

Officers responded to a call of  shots being fired around 9:50 p.m. at a Coney Island on the corner of Grandville Avenue and Joy Road on the west side, the station says. Police tracked down the man and confronted him at Joy Road and Artesian Street

WDIV reports that three cops were involved. The Detroit News says five were involved.
