Detroit Police on Wednesday released a video of an arsonist pouring a flammable liquid along the side of a home on the city's northwest side and setting it afire. No one was home.
The incident Wednesday around 9:31 a.m. in the 18700 block of Avon Avenue was captured on camera. Someone called 911 and firefighters extinguished the flames. They saved the house, just south of West 7 Mile Road between Evergreen and the Southfield Freeway, but there was damage, police said.
The arsonist ran off. Anyone with information should call the arson unit at (313) 596-2940 or Crime Stoppers at (800) Speak-Up.
