Two people are in critical condition after a shootout with police on Detroit's west side.
Officers were responding to a report of a man with a gun at the Seven-Tel party store shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday when they encountered the suspects, WXYZ says. The suspects began shooting after officers commanded them to show their hands, Assistant Detroit police chief David LeValley tells the station.
They "clearly appeared to be intoxicated or on some sort of drugs," LeValley said.
At least 10 shots reportedly were exchanged as the officers fired from behind a car parked outside the store. Seven-Tel is a Project Green Light location.
