Detroit's Republic Tavern Is Among OpenTable's 100 Hottest U.S. Restaurants

It's not surprising that at least one Detroit restaurant would make RoundTable's "100 Hottest Restaurants in America for 2016."

In this case, it's Republic restaurant located in the cool, Grand Army of the Republic Building at 1942 Grand River Avenue in downtown Detroit. The restaurant opened in February 2015.

OpenTable, which is described as an online restaurant reservations system, said it determined the list of honorees after analyzing more than five million reviews of more than 20,000 restaurants across the country — all submitted by verified diners.

Red Ginger of Traverse City, which serves Asian cuisine, also is listed.
