In Detroit, there exists a place that has all of the following: A fire hydrant covered in green paint. Rows of neatly planted tomatoes, still mostly green, as most tomatoes are this year.
A friendly worker who gives out freshly laid eggs that were laid by the chickens outside her office. A dead end road that sees a lot of tractor traffic.
And a tiny horse tethered to a fence.
The urban farm was started as neighborhood beatification project by a nearby business and now covers a handful of lots. But we can't tell you where it is. They asked us not to share its location because they don't want extra eyes on the place. But if you happen to find it, well... the eggs are delicious.
