ESPN journalist and Detroit native Jemele Hill is getting a big shout out from her hometown.
On Monday, she is set to give the commencement speech for her alma mater, Mumford High School, at Detroit Music Hall. The next day, the school will rename its auditorium after the class of '93 graduate, writes Lee DeVito of Metro Times.
In August, Hill she'll be in Detroit for the annual National Association of Black Journalists convention, where she will receive an award for Journalist of the Year.
You might recall last September Hill found herself in the midst of a controvery after tweeting that President Donald Trump is “a white supremacist,” “a bigot” and “unqualified and unfit to be president.”
Trump called for her to be fired.
