After two intense years, Roy Roberts is calling it quits as the emergency manager of the Detroit public schools.
Jennifer Chambers of the Detroit News reports that Robert, the ex-GM exec who was appointed by Gov. Rick Snyder, is leaving in two weeks at the end of his contract.

"It's time for me to go," Roberts, 74, told the News. "I feel good about our strategic plan. We have a good strong staff."
Roberts told the News that Chief Financial Officer William Aldridge will be promoted to chief financial and administrative officer.
