Detroit Sports Media Star Mike Valenti Suffers Face Burns From Flaming Steak

Mike Valenti, the outspoken sports talk show host, is nursing a burned face after a flaming steak dinner got out of hand Friday in Birmingham.

According to Tom Greenwood in The Detroit News, Valenti was dining with friends at Bistro Joe's on Woodward when the restaurant's Flaming Tomahawk steak misfired when 151-proof rum was applied and seared Valenti on his cheek, nose and lip. 

His attorney said: “Can you imagine your face catching on fire? Closing your eyes and not knowing how badly you were burned for several hours later?”

A restaurant spokesman said it was the first Flaming Tomahawk incident, but it was the last time that specific preparation wil be used.
