A Detroit teen shot in her home during a drive-by has raised enough money to move to a safer place.

Myonna Lanton, 14, and her family launched a GoFundMe to cover moving expenses after the shooting in October. As of Monday night, the crowdsourcing campaign had brought in more than $4,500 — well over the family's $3,000 goal. Nearly all of the donations came in after Christmas, when WXYZ and Deadline Detroit shared Myonna's story.

Myonna was shot in the head while in her living room on Detroit's west side, near 7 Mile and Meyers.

She recently told WXYZ that the shooting left her with anxiety. She said she spoke out to bring attention to gun violence and its impact on innocent kids:

"Just stop," the teen said. "I missed three weeks of school, but for what? It's like for what? I wasn't even doing anything."

Myonna says she believes the shooters targeted the wrong home on Appoline near Seven Mile Road in Detroit. Now, there are surveillance cameras outside so Myonna can look outside whenever she feels afraid, which is far too often, especially since the people responsible for the shooting remain free. Witnesses describe the the suspects as three masked men.

"I am so tired of living here. I just want to move," Myonna said.

More than 100 people donated to Myonna's cause. Some shared their reasoning on the GoFundMe page: "I donated because no one should be afraid in their own home especially a young person with so much life ahead of them."

More than 50 kids have been shot and wounded in Detroit in each of the past several yers.
