We're certain the hippos can handle some extra water.
Still, the Detroit Zoo said Tuesday that it would be closed for the day following record rainfall and floods, WDIV reports.
The Zoo says the animals are safe, but the water caused some damage "including the Arctic Ring of Life, boilers in other buildings, and technical equipment," WDIV reports.
The Zoo said it hopes to reopen on Wednesday.
