Uber Driver Modou Diagne
A 23-year-old Detroiter has been charged in the March 19 murder of an Uber driver on Detroit's west side, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office announced Sunday evening.
Authorities allege that Dajuan Watson called Uber driver Modou Diagne of Detroit on a Saturday after 11 p.m. to drive him from Chester Street in Detroit
Watson got into an altercation with the driver in the 5500 block of Pacific in Detroit and shot the driver, authorities allege. The driver died from multiple gunshots. Diagne was from Senegal in West Africa. He was married and had three children.
Watson is scheduled to be arraigned Monday 10:30 a.m. in Detroit's 36th District Court.
A GoFundMe campaign for Diagne's family has raised more than $18,000.
