Sometimes Hall of Famers get no respect.

Detroit Lions Hall of Famer Lem Barney, 67, is suing the Detroit Medical Center for $270,000.

Joel Kurth of The Detroit News reports that he claims he was fired after signing too many autographs for fans.

The News writes:

The NFL Hall of Famer sued the hospital complex on Friday in Wayne County Circuit Court for age discrimination and violating the Family Medical Leave Act, claiming he was let go in February just weeks after returning to work after back surgery.

He initially earned $80,000 a year in 2006 as director of  physician relations and replacement. He was eventually demoted to a lesser job at $30,000, the News reported.
