Comfort Food: Watch For Mac n' Cheez Opening Downtown And In Suburbs

A Somerset North location opened in November in Troy.

The couple behind Sweet Lorraine's restaurants in Southfield and Livonia now intend to serve a popular classic at up to 10 new sites, The Detroit News reports.

Lorraine Platman and Gary Sussman plan to open up to 10 Fabulous Mac n’ Cheez locations in Metro Detroit over the next year, following the success of a prototype that opened at Great Lakes Crossing in Auburn Hills in 2010 and another at the Somerset Collection in Troy last November. . . .

The couple has already signed leases in East Lansing, downtown Detroit and Sylvania, Ohio. They are looking in West Bloomfield, Northville, Ann Arbor and Midtown Detroit. 

Fourteen types of mac and cheese are offered, including varieties with lobster or button mushrooms or shrimp or spinach and toasted walnuts.
