Call it divine intervention. Call it what you like.

The painting of the 'Smoking Priest', Monsignor Clement Kern, that was stolen two weeks ago from the wall of the Anchor Bar on Fort Street in downtown Detroit has mysteriously reappeared, WDIV reports.

WDIV reported that the bartender on duty got an anonymous call on Wednesday saying the painting was in the lobby, and there was $100 for any damages to the wall where the painting was hanging.
WDIV reports the painting had been part of the Anchor Bar family for more than 30 years.

A surveillance video showed a man stuffing the painting under the back of his jacket and walking out, WDIV reported.

Kern was with the Holy Trinity Church and died in the early 1980s.
