Downtown Detroit has another new restaurant. SavannahBlue, which has a soul food menu and cocktails, opened quietly last month at 1431 Times Square near the the Rosa Parks Transit Center, The Detroit News' Melody Baetens writes.

The restaurant says at its site:

Savannahblue is gathering place where people can enjoy a delicious meal in our Dining Room or simply meet up to relax and converse over drinks and appetizers at the bar in our Living Room. Our menu offers Contemporary Northern Soul food– fresh ingredients prepared with Southern flavors, presented with Detroit style.

Savannahblue boasts a delicious wine list and the cocktails are tasty and made with fresh squeezed juices .  The space is cool, comfortable and inviting and  is fully complemented by a rich and soulful soundtrack (the Sounds of Savannah).  And by the way…hospitality is our special sauce.

Some items on the menu include house dry-rub wings, jumbo crab cake and roasted sweet potato bisque.
