Drew Lane

Popular Detroit radio personality Drew Lane is done at WMGC 105.1 FM, Crain's Detroit Business reports.

Bill Shea and Dustin Walsh of Crain's report that the decision by Greater Media Inc. came after disagreements over show content and talent that led to a breakdown in contract talks.

The station announced the end of Lane's hosting job during afternon drive-time and that and midday host Matt Dery would host his slot in the interim.

“It was Greater Media’s desire to take the station, and especially the show, in a direction that Drew could not agree to. It included changes, specifically in content and personnel,” said Lane’s agent, Loretta Ames, a partner at the Detroit office of Bloomfield Hills-based law firm Plunkett Cooney PC, according to Crain's.

“That was the sole reason why the parties could not reach an agreement. They wanted to add people that were not consistent with the show he has delivered for the past 2½ years.”
