This sounds like the plot of a Honey Boo Boo Child episode, but Eastpointe has a rat problem in part because of exposed food waste. So city officials are considering an "intensive" campaign to deal with the rodents. In addition to extermination, the effort could involve an educational component.
Macomb Daily: Councilman Phil Guastella suggested creating a flier with simple step-by-step directions on how to rid the trash of food sources. The information could be located on water bills, the city’s website and cable TV station, he said.
