ATOMIC CHICKEN, 6500 Woodward Avenue, Detroit  -- Fast-casual soul food, chicken & waffles and chicken & biscuits. (Opening some time this Spring)

THE PETERBORO, 420 Peterboro Street, Detroit -- Classic Detroit Chinese-American recipes like boneless almond chicken, crab Rangoon, salt and pepper shrimp, and roast pork. (Opened this week)

KATOI, 2520 Michigan Avenue, Detroit -- Thai-inspired shareable dishes that are about 50 percent vegetarian. (Opens March 21 to public)

DILLA'S DELIGHTS, 242 John R Street, Detroit -- Coffee and organic donuts. (Opening late March/April)

THE PARK BAR'S HAWAIIAN CONCEPT, 2040 Park Avenue, Detroit --   Hawaiian-inspired dining concept that will offer such items as loco moco, manapuas (pork-filled steamed dumplings), Spam musubi. (Opening April 8)
